Ennerdale Water is the nearest Lake to the Seacote Hotel and Holiday Parks. It is the most westerly of the Lakes and remote.
There are no roads alongside it. This means it is also one of the least busy lakes. A perfect place to escape whilst on holiday with us.
Ennerdale offers various walking options. The path from the carpark and along much of the shore is well kept and accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. A longer walk takes you on a circular walk around the lake. Offering mesmerising views of the lake and valley.
The circular route is not accessible and requires some small climbs and hops over streams feeding into the lake. There are also trails leading up into the fells for the more adventurous walker.
Many parts of the route are free of sheep making it an ideal spot for dog walking. Do take care though as being the lake district, you never know what awaits you around the corner.
Being so isolated you will need to take your own refreshments for whilst you are lake side but the nearby village of Ennerdale Bridge has two pubs which serve food and a lovely community run cafe called The Gather.
If you’d like to visit Ennerdale and are looking for a place to stay, why not consider Seacote Holiday parks?
